Maker Spotlight – Get To Know The Face Behind The Brand.
Meet Sarah from The Copper Wildflower. Sarah resides in Little Rock, Arkansas and has been creating jewelry with polymer clay since January of 2021. She is inspired by quiet time spent in her office. Usually she will go to her office and just start creating. Sarah does better without structure, so she doesn’t go in with a plan: but more of an idea. When she isn’t creating with clay, she loves to cook. There is nothing more satisfying to her than the smell of onions and garlic on the stove. She loves to watchParks and Rec when she is in the creation mode.
The Copper Wildflower specializes in earrings made from polymer clay. Her designs are fresh and fun and can be worn with a variety of outfits. Sarah currently does not accept custom orders. Her website is linked in her IG bio.
Here are some words from Sarah:
-What made you want to start creating?-
“I’ve always loved creating. When I saw polymer clay earrings I knew I had to try making them. So I bought clay off of Amazon and began practicing and learning from Youtube! Eventually I became obsessed and turned it into a business!”
-What is your MOST FAVORITE item you have created?-
“Oh gosh! Today I actually made a pair of leopard print and emerald green earrings and I immediately thought “this is the best thing I’ve ever made.”
-Would you like to share family details?-
“I have a sweet husband, 3 girls under 4, and a standard poodle named Frenchy.”
-What makes your shop unique?-
“I donate 10% of my proceeds to Project Zero. They are a non-profit that helps kids waiting to be adopted from foster care find forever families.”
-What is the story behind your business name?-
“I’ve never been the most beautiful or sexy woman. Two words that people have used to describe me ALL my life are: “cute” and “sweet.” I used to hate that, and want to fit the mold of sophisticated and sexy. But I’m learning to LEAN into who I am. I’m a sweet and cute person. Similar to a wildflower. I’m not a rose, but my beauty is no different just because it’s in a different category. ❤️ I also have copper hair, and that’s where the name stemmed from!”
