-How long have you been making?-
“I made my first pair of resin earrings in summer of 2019.”
-What other hobbies do you have?-
“I went to school and completed a BFA for painting. I still paint often though more of a hobby these days. I am currently back in school for silversmithing so I would say hobbies include all things jewelry! I also love camping and the outdoors.”
-Do you have favorite things to do while creating?-
“Podcasts! I’m a big multitasker so while my hands are busy I always put my brain and ears to work. I love learning while I am making so I listen to educational podcasts all day.”
-What inspires you?-
“Fashion trends throughout the years always get my juices flowing. But I would say nature and the matter it creates is my muse. From the beauty of space to the depths of the oceans I am always finding ideas, color schemes and shapes in our world.”
-What made you want to start creating?-
“I stumbled on resin the summer of 2019 while coating some paintings for an art show. I was immediately in love with the medium. At the time I was yearning to rock big jewelry again. But after my second child I found myself constantly uncomfortable and unable to wear anything “Extra”. Not to mention the constant battle with tiny hands tugging on any and all jewelry I had on. After a little research I bought a very basic mold and made a big pair of statement studs packed with glitter and gold flake for myself. I got asked about the pair whenever I wore them and ended up landing a retail account via that. I have not looked back.”
-What is your MOST FAVORITE item you have created?-
“The “Heidi Dangle”! I was asked to style a fashion show about a year and a half ago, I made a gigantic pair of glitter infused dangle at 4:30am the night before the show. They were the first to sell the next day! Only one pair exists but I intend to make more!”
-What makes your shop unique? What is your specialty?-
“Comfort and quality! I believe in lightweight jewelry that is easy and safe for the body. As an artist materials are extremely important to me and I always make sure I am using the most quality of supplies. From the first drops of art resin down to the final hypoallergenic hardware that is installed.”
-What is the story behind your business name?-
“I based my company name Stardust and Vines over my fascination in all things magical and out of reach like stars/stardust. While also paying an ode to the beauty of organic matter right before our eyes, living in front of us, such as flowers and vines. When the two are mixed I feel a sense of whimsical wonder is created.”
