Maker Spotlight- Get To Know The Face Behind The Brand.
Meet Erin from heyclayheyy. This Army Veteran has been creating with clay for a little over three months and is located in Gloucester, VA. Erin draws inspiration for her pieces from her surroundings, or anything floral, it’s her weakness ?. When she is not creating bold, floral pieces or any of her distinctive textures, she loves to do puzzles, hike, road trip, and watch her boys grow up. This original, and at times eccentric, Aquarius likes to jam out to music, mostly reggae right now, while she is creating. It’s her self-care time when her husband takes over with the boys. Or while they are napping, she just gets a little time to herself to get her creativity out.
heyclayheyy specializes in a variety of styles and she loves to experiment with different types of techniques. Erin makes custom orders so if you would like a custom piece, please drop her a line. You can DM her if you see anything on her IG feed that you must have and her etsy store is linked below.

Q&A with Erin:
What made you want to start creating?
“I’ve always been the creative artsy chick, I love drawing and painting, have a degree in art history and I’m a year away from becoming a high school art teacher. But I never found my niche until I saw a video of someone making clay earrings and it just struck me. I had to try it and FELL IN LOVE. I get stoked to try new slabs, new patterns, and the feedback I’ve received has been just incredible, especially from other artists that are just so kind.”
What is your MOST FAVORITE item you have created?
“Any of the floral slabs mostly because of how time consuming it is, I love to see the finished project.”
Would you like to share family details?-“I’ve been married for almost 6 years. We have two incredible boys, Aiden who is 2 and a half and Niko who is 8 months old. We gotta try for a girl ? We have two dogs and two rabbits, so basically I live in a zoo.”
What makes your shop unique?
“I try to be as kind and personable as I possibly can be but I don’t know if I have a true uniqueness just yet I have to keep building my brand and find my specialty.”
