Maker Spotlight – Get To Know The Face Behind The Brand.
Meet Jennifer from Hello Cheeseburger. Jennifer lives in Kansas City, MO and has been a crafty person her entire life. Her mom always referred to it as “gomming”. She started Hello Cheeseburger as a graphic tee line in 2009 but only recently started working with polymer clay in late 2019. Jennifer is inspired by her love of shapes and colors. She also likes to draw inspiration from being outside, her daughters, magazines–all over! With her working a full-time job, crushing it with Hello Cheeseburger and having three young girls, it does not leave her much time for hobbies. She does love to watch movies and cook though. When this independent and fiery Aries is wearing her creator hat, she likes to spend a lot of her time making in silence, probably because it’s always loud at her house (her words not mine).
Hello Cheeseburger specializes in fun and flirty earrings, mostly statement and studs, made with interesting shapes and in the most unique colors. Jennifer has a knack for choosing the right shape and color combos to make a gorgeous pair of earrings each and every time. You can see her creations on her IG page. Jennifer happily accepts custom orders so slide on into her DMs. Her website is linked in her IG bio.
Here are some words from Jennifer:
-What made you want to start creating?-
“As a mom to 3 young kids I desperately needed something that was just for me. I missed being creative.”
-What is your MOST FAVORITE item you have created?-
“My most favorite earrings I’ve created so far were part of a “Chopped” challenge (like the Food Network show) and are big and bright and totally not something I can wear in my day to day life. So I keep them hanging up in my office!”
-What makes your shop unique?-
“What makes my shop unique is that I started letting my oldest daughter Florence work with me. She is very creative and loves to make things. She has started making earrings that might be better than mine! Currently my specialty is earrings but I would love to start expanding into necklaces and also including more vintage materials into my work.”
Would you like to share any family info? Pets?-
“My fiancé and I have 3 great little girls and live with our super old grumpy dog, Ruby.”
-What is the story behind your business name?-
“I saw my young self say this to the camera on a home movie and thought it was funny. It always gets people asking about my business!”
