Maker Spotlight – Get To Know The Face Behind The Brand.
Meet Levina and Shilvi from Crafted by Levi. Levina and Shilvi are a sister team that live in Highland Park, NJ and have been making jewelry from polymer clay for a little over a year now. They find inspiration in people who enjoy being out of their comfort zone and try something new that they haven’t tried before. Making and selling earrings are definitely two major things that they both have not done before, so they took a leap in 2020, and here they are. When they are not creating, Levina enjoys hiking while Shilvi enjoys trying new recipes every week. When they are in maker mode they love binge-watching K-Dramas.
Crafted by Levi specializes in intricately designed polymer clay earrings. They have a knack for creating whimsical yet sophisticated earrings that make you and others smile the entire time you are wearing them. They currently do not accept custom orders but they are constantly dropping incredible designs. Their Etsy store is in their IG bio.
Here are some words from Levina and Shilvi:
-What made you want to start creating?-
“It started from a birthday gift. Last year, on my birthday, my sister gifted me a pair of handmade polymer clay earring with Fall/Autumn theme (maple leaf) and I was surprised by the cute design and good quality for a starter. Since I like to draw and my sister likes to make something handcrafted, then we thought it would be a good idea to start making clay earrings. So, we have been making earrings since December 2020.”
-What is your MOST FAVORITE item you have created?-
“We both agree that “The Eyes” is our top favorite earring of all time.”
-What makes your shop unique? What is your specialty?-
“We make earrings in a very small batch no more than 4-5 pairs per style because we want to make sure that each earring we create is one-of-a-kind. We get so much inspiration for the designs from Indonesian culture because it’s very unique, hence we love creating earrings that have small details that require lots of patience. This is also one of the reasons why we only make a few pairs per style ?”
-What is the story behind your business name?-
“Levi” is actually the combination of both of our first names. We try to include any alphabets that represent our first name.”
