Maker Spotlight – Get To Know The Face Behind The Brand.
Meet Samantha from Bobbi Boulevard. Samantha lives in Winnipeg, Manitoba – Canada. She has been making jewelry since 2016 and tried many different techniques to figure out her style and interests. She finds inspiration in life, family, nature, and self-growth. She also loves finding different ideas by using only what she has on hand as it helps to bring out her originality. Her hobbies include drawing and painting human hands, faces, and bodies on occasion. When Samantha is creating, she typically will watch YouTube videos or she creates in complete silence and is very focused.
Bobbi Boulevard specializes mainly in wire-wrapped, bohemian inspired jewelry. Her beautiful pieces can include gold-toned enameled wire, semi-precious gemstones, brass elements and wood elements. Sam currently does not accept custom orders. Her website is located in her IG bio.
Here are some words from Samantha:
-What made you want to start creating?-
“It all started with trying to find a creative hobby while looking around Michaels Craft Store. I purchased a few crystals, some Swarovski’s, wire, basic tools, and I haven’t looked back since. ?”
-Would you like to share any family info? Pets?-
“I have a 17 month old daughter (as of June 2021), a spouse, and two fun and crazy cats, Niko and Benji!”
-What is your MOST FAVORITE item you have created?-
“My Benni Earrings!!! They bring me so much joy when I look at them because of how unique they are.”
-What makes your shop unique?-
“I like to think that my shop is unique because I bring in some trending jewelry shapes and use those to create a different wire wrapping technique that’s modernized. I have a few other ideas up my sleeve that may involve SOME polymer clay textures. ?”
-What is the story behind your business name?-
“Bob was the name of my Papa. I chose to name my business after him as I admired his strong work ethics and his creative world. He had battled cancer for years and passed in 2019 shortly before Christmas and wasn’t able to meet his first great grandchild. This is my way of honouring him after his passing.”
